The Early Education Warriors program is our leadership development program for parents and child care providers from across New York State. It is focused on issues relating to early care and learning, built on the success of our Education Warriors program.
Following the same structure as our Education Warriors program, over 10 sessions participants receive in-depth training on a wide range of topics including community organizing, facilitation skills, social media for advocacy work, the political landscape and policies. The goal at the end of the program is for parents leaders to be equipped with the tools and skills necessary to organize in their own communities around child care in New York.
In between the leadership training sessions, participants receive “homework” that requires them to utilize their new skills in their own communities. This offers practical applications of skills learned from the previous session and transferable lessons that helps prepare them for the next training session.
