ALBANY, N.Y. (November 9, 2022) — In response to the gubernatorial election result, the public education advocacy organization Alliance for Quality Education released the following statement:
“New York voted last night to give Governor Hochul a historic full term — the first woman to be elected to the office in our state’s history. With this vote, our state sent a clear message that we will not stand for Trump-aligned politicians who stoke fear, hate and lies, and deny elections,” said Jasmine Gripper, Executive Director, Alliance for Quality Education.
“The Governor has New York’s working families to thank for her victory last night, and now it’s time for her to deliver for us. Governor Hochul now has a mandate to continue the progress that she began last year to fully fund public education, expand child care and support children and families. The Alliance for Quality Education is looking forward to working with Governor Hochul over the upcoming legislative session to fulfill the final year of the Foundation Aid phase-in, and truly create universal child care for New York’s families.”
