The Foundation Aid school funding hearings are fast approaching! Join one of our prep sessions to find out what you need to know to be part of this process, so you’re ready to make your voice heard.
Many hearings will be happening far from our high-need communities, like Rochester, Syracuse, and Yonkers, making it challenging for families and schools most reliant on Foundation Aid to attend in person. That’s why we’re cohosting two prep sessions in partnership with the Education Law Center, so that you know everything you need to in order to participate and to prepare you for giving your testimony, whether it is in-person at a hearing, or written and submitted online.
We’ll be hosting the following virtual sessions:
- Statewide session: Wednesday, July 10 from 6-7pm. Register here.
- NYC session: Thursday, July 11 from 7-8pm. Register here.
Here’s what we’ll cover in these sessions:
- Learn about the Foundation Aid review process and its importance
- Understand what is and isn’t covered by Foundation Aid funding
- Explore guidelines on effectively preparing your testimony, including how to sign up to testify
We need to make sure any changes to the Foundation Aid formula account for what it really costs to give our public schools the resources they need to support our kids. Let’s make sure every school and every student gets the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.
So before you check out for a well-earned summer break, take this chance to make a real impact on our schools and their future funding.
Thank you for your dedication to our schools and the future of our communities. We look forward to having you join us!
